| Description: | The Lead Estimator is responsible for all matters relating to Service Estimating and Total Erected Cost (TEC) estimates including LSTK EPC bid estimates. Ensuring the quality and accuracy of estimates, and the resolution of any day-to-day estimating problems that may arise. Responsibilities: The provision of advice and assistance to all Estimating Engineers in the Procedures. Preparation and maintenance of estimating Manuals and Estimating Procedures. Advice to the Management of the Department on all matters relating to staffing and proficiency. Plan the workload of the Estimating Group to meet scheduled dates on all proposals. Ensure that calculations have been checked arithmetically and signed off by the person checking. Review and signs off all Estimates produced prior to the departmental review. Ensure that records are kept of information taken from Final Job Cost Reports, Project Final Reports and Construction Final Reports, and that this information is taken into account in the preparation of new estimates. Keep records of escalation data in graphical form, so that recommendations on future trends can be made.
Supports the Project Manager in any other relevant area, e.g. Contractual matters, tax implications, living and accommodation costs etc.
Liaises with the Manager, Project Controls on any problems, suggestions, staffing matters etc. in order to support a consistent approach across the company and to supervise and coach more junior project controls staff in their duties.
Establish and promote good working relations with the project staff and the Client.
Reads, understands and implements the Company Safety Policy and the arrangements described in the Company and area Safety Management System documents.
Must have the ability to interface effectively with others and to communicate well at all levels.
Industry knowledge, Management experience and estimating experience. Have the commitment to identify, analyse and propose solutions to problems in a constructive and positive manner.
